Approaching the Days of Awe

A DELICIOUS JOURNEY OF SOUL NURTURING THROUGH THE MONTH OF ELUL

Take a nourishing and contemplative meander through Elul. Over the course of 4 Sundays on Zoom, get ready for the Days of Awe and your cheshbon hanefesh, your “spiritual accounting” with a journey that honors your tender soul, fills up your personal love buckets and provides tools for doing the work of restoring or repairing relationships – with yourself, with others or with nature.

In the ideal world, when the world is new again, we arrive fresh from introspection, ready to stand in the days of awe with a renewed soul in alignment with our values and our vision of our highest self.

However.

Many of us often hurtle into High Holy Day services, gasping and late, and stumble, bewildered, into some semblance of self reflection where we stand beating ourselves up for what we did wrong over the year.

Let this year be different

Rooted in mussar, supported by personal ritual, reflection, and prayer, and centered in connection with the Divine Mystery, Shekinah and Earth-based Judaic ritual, the weekly workshop sets the stage for a week of reflection and attention; or stands alone as enough. This is your journey – do as much or as little as works for you.
Accompanied by a digital set of our beautifully illustrated Elul art cards that guide our daily practice according to each week’s mussar traits that includes a morning prayer frameing each day, a meditative mantra, a personal practice, a question for reflecting during the week and nightly journaling prompts.

This year, let Elul be a time of nourishment and connection to self and Source. When the Days of Awe arrive, you’ll be ready.

McKenzie, You are a spiritual artist!

What a beautiful ritual you shaped for Amy’s conversion… it had beauty, heart and LOVE. It was a pleasure to collaborate with you! Yishar kokhech!
Rabbi Dayle Friedman, she/her
Interim Rabbi, Congregation Bet Haverim

McKenzie's magic is in her creativity

and how she holds space for everyone to participate in their own way. She thought of every little detail to make the event special ... Everyone left the evening feeling grounded and part of something greater than themselves, and my daughter felt extraordinarily loved and supported.

I will never forget the power of my conversion, thanks to McKenzie’s skills.

Her intuitive, artistic way of creating, together with her deep understanding of Jewish ritual and tradition, birthed an experience far beyond what I could have imagined. McKenzie saw the inherent majesty and meaning in the conversion process, and made it not only visible, but embodied. We became an ecstatic bunch of women, singing and laughing together in such a simcha!

McKenzie guided our group powerfully

embodying her deep commitments to connection, gratitude, justice, the earth and all of its inhabitants. She breaks through daily existence patterns and breathes fresh fiery love into each moment. Throughout the planning and the ritual she listened deeply to the possibilities and needs of the moment. A thunderstorm arrived in the middle of our outdoor ritual and she wove it in with grace so that it made the moment even more meaningful. Her powerful vulnerability and full presence is a gift to be inspired by.
