Tending to Your Heart in a Holy Canopy: Experience Solace, Faith and Resilience
As we experience the one-year anniversary of the war between Israel and Hamas that are decimating communities in Palestine and Israel, our worlds remain polarized and traumatized; our responses to these conditions are interwoven with inherited trauma and ancient pain.
How do we begin to process the overwhelming emotions of the past year? Can we stay in relationship across vast differences? Within the holy canopy of the Sukkah, let’s hold each other with the hope of offering comfort and solace through listening and reflecting.
These 2.5 hour workshops can be tailored to your community’s needs. They can stand alone or be offered as two consecutive sessions.

Testimonials
“McKenzie’s magic is in her creativity and how she holds space for everyone to participate in their own way. She thought of every little detail to make th event special…Everyone left the evening feeling grounded and part of something larger than themselves and my daughter felt extraordinarily loved and supported.”
-Ariele F. from a Red Thread ceremony for her daughter
“I will never forget the power of my conversion thanks to the power of McKenzie’s skills. Her intuitive, artistic way of creating, together with her deep understanding of Jewish ritual and tradition, birthed an experience far beyond what I could have imagined. McKenzie saw the inherent majesty and meaning in the conversion process and made it not only visible, but embodied. We became an ecstatic bunch of of women laughing and singing together in such a simcha!”
-Amy L from her conversion to Judaism ceremony
I appreciate that you encourage us to be real, and not pretend that everything and everyone in our lives are just great.
I love that we are encouraged to go deep and not just stay on the surface.
I love how you share your own stuff and allow yourself to be vulnerable.
I love how you encourage imperfection without apology.
I love how you create a safe space for us to process our fears, hopes and dreams.
I love how you respect yourself and others with compassion.
I love how you encourage our creativity.

For most of my life I created spaces for other people to make art but never made space for my own. I finally prioritized my art making around 2015. Initially my art provided comfort and a creative outlet but then! I went all in and art making became central to both my spiritual practice and my coping mechanisms. Art helped me make sense of the political environment, got me through Covid and the sudden death of my mother. I realized that my own experiences could benefit others and I started offering art making experiences and teaching art at various gatherings. It’s been full steam ahead ever since!
I have turned some of my work into products and most of it is available for purchase; both originals as well as prints. See something you love? Email me and we can get you a print.
I invite you to also subscribe to my Substack, the Wondering Witch,
where I share deeper thoughts and resources.
